How can I apply to the SUSI Program?
Don’t worry, we’re here to help. To apply to the SUSI Program, visit the U.S. State Department’s website. The Study of U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) are five- to six-week academic programs focusing on topics in U.S. studies for groups of foreign undergraduates, scholars, and teachers. Hosted by universities and colleges throughout the United States, the Institutes include an intensive academic residency, an educational study tour to another region of the United States, and opportunities for participants to engage with American peers.
Program participants are recruited and nominated by Public Affairs Sections (PAS) of U.S. Embassies and Consulates, and in some cases, Fulbright Commissions around the world. Candidates from non-elite backgrounds and historically underserved groups such as indigenous groups, Afro-Latinos, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities are encouraged to apply.
