Volunteer with the Dialogue Institute

Those interested in volunteering may contact us via e-mail at info@dialogueinstitute.org.

Host Families

Our (Study of the U.S. Institutes) students are undergraduates in varying fields from India, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt attending a 5-week summer academic program on religious diversity and democracy. We are looking for local families in the greater Philadelphia area who have children or family members between the ages of 15-30 that would be interested in hosting 1-2 SUSI students for a weekend homestay during the summer.

Journal of Ecumenical Studies (JES)

Assist our editors with planning and promoting author events, and blog posts, and managing our book reviews. We also invite students/volunteers to write book reviews! The JES is a peer-reviewed academic journal and was established in 1964 focusing on trends in ecumenical and interreligious research around the globe.

Media and Marketing

Assist our media coordinator in developing marketing materials for new programs and researching our organization’s constituents and help us to identify interests and opportunities for programs and collaborations across borders. Skills in design, data entry and management, social media, and marketing are welcome. Familiarity with programs like Canva, Salesforce, and Mailchimp is welcome.

Research

The Dialogue Institute regularly needs researchers to support the development of customized curricula. Currently, we are looking for interns to research interfaith/interreligious curricula and programs from around the world, history and resources related to Black-Jewish dialogue and understanding in the U.S., historical background on religious sites in Philadelphia and beyond for a tours program, and specific themes related to dialogue, religious pluralism, global ethics, religious studies, theology, philosophy, history, and the social sciences.
