Religious Pluralism in the United States

This module contains several resources that explore the history, meaning, and practices of democracy, particularly as it relates to religious freedom. In many ways, the city of Philadelphia is an ideal location to study and explore this topic given that the founding documents of the United States were written and approved here and that one of greatest experiments of a religiously diverse society was practiced here under the inspiration of Philadelphia’s founder, William Penn. There are also resources here that will help you to reflect on and address contemporary challenges to democracy and religious freedom in your part of the world.
